Pousada Xaraés
The Pantanal is one of the best places in the world to spot wildlife because already have been identified about 242 species of fishes, 650 species of birds, 110 different mammals and 50 species of reptiles. Because of its features the Pantanal is prefect to make nature trips, birdwatching, photografic safari and other activities on the nature.
POUSADA XARAÉS (Pantanal Park Road – Corumbá)
The completely renovated Pousada Xaraés is located in one of the most beautiful geographical regions of the Pantanal - the Abobral region, about 340 km from Campo Grande and 140 km from Corumbá (of which 28 km is unpaved road). Pousada Xaraes is situated at the margins of the Abobral river in a private area of 4200 hectares of pristine nature. The pousada has been remodeled and adapted to meet all standards of quality and comfort.
Leisure facilities are a football field, tennis court, beach volley court, horse-riding area, ecological swimming pool (without the use of chemical products), swimming pool for children, dry sauna and small fitness room. The large living room has several ambients with a snooker table, a small library, board games, cable TV/DVD and a bar with terrace/veranda where the guests can enjoy the delicious drinks and snacks.
The 17 spacious and comfortable apartments are distributed in 3 separate buildings, just a few meters from the Abobral River. All apartments are equipped with ceiling-fan, air-conditioning, telephone, mini bar and private bathroom, secure and decorated in a rustic style. A total of 46 guests can be accommodated in 8 DBL rooms, 6 TRP rooms and 3 QDP rooms. Every couple of rooms has a large veranda with fans and hammocks, offering another area to relax. From the apartments you can hear the marvellous songs of the Pantanal birds and the emotional howling of the monkeys that inhabit the trees at the margin of the Abobral River early in the morning.
Activities include the following: bird watching, hikes (during the day and also available at night), canoe tours, horseback riding, horse cart trip, trail walking, 4x4 Safari (also a night spotting excursions) and catch and release fishing.

1º Day: Campo Grande – Pantanal
Assistance at the airport or bus station of Campo Grande and transfer by public bus or private car to Buraco das Piranhas (police station where begin the Pantanal Park Road). The lodge's car will be waiting for you at Buraco das Piranhas. The local transfer to Pousada Xaraés is done in open car and you already have the opportunity to spot some wildlife on the Pantanal Park Road. Arrival at Pousada Xaraés and check-in. During your stay the following tours will be scheduled at the pousada: nature walks, horse-back rides, boat rides, canoe trips, trail walking, fishing, ecological safari’s and night tours by 4x4 or boat, depending the weather conditions. Overnight at Pousada Xaraés. (D)
2º Day: Tour Pantanal
The trips mentioned above are scheduled at the Pousada. The trips will be carefully selected, depending the climate and time of the year and will be guided by local guides speaking English. The local guides know all about the flora and fauna that make this place unique. To avoid the intense heat during the day, the tours will be done early in the morning and mid-afternoon, at these times of the day, is a lot bigger the possibilities of seeing the movement of the animals. 3º Day: Pantanal – Buraco das Piranhas
After breakfast another tour in the morning. Lunch and transfer by Public Bus or Private Car to Campo Grande.
